KYPARISSIA – ZACHARO – OLYMPIA
Kyparissia
Kyparissia is a coastal town in the southwestern part of the Peloponnese, situated on the northwestern slopes of Mount “Psichros”.
The old Upper Town is built at the foothills of the small local mountain, on top of which you will find the remnats of the Venetian castle. The Newer Town (Downtown), has been recently built along the coast. It is rather a modern town with all kind of amenities.
Zacharo
Zacharo is a coastal city in the prefecture of Ilia. The thermal springs of Kaiafa are also in this area. Visitors to the thermal springs of Kaiafa will have the opportunity to admire the splendour of nature and swim to the beautiful, as well as unique lake.
The area is also suggested by doctors because it is believed to be therapeutic for several diseases.
Olympia
Olympia was a well-known city of ancient Greece, in Ilia, as it was the place where the early Olympic Games were held. The gold statue of Zeus, a piece of art of the famous Phidias, is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
The Olympic games were first held in 776B.C. and were repeated every four years.
