PYLOS – VOIDOKILIA – GIALOVA
Pylos
Pylos, one of the biggest towns in Messinia, is a historic and quiet town on the coast of Navarino Bay. It is very famous for the castle known as Neokastro. The impressive monument of the “three Admirals” that sank the Turkish-Egyptian fleet, on 20 October 1827, dominates the modern centre of the town.
Voidokoilia
Perhaps the most famous among all beaches in Messinia. Voidokoilia beach is characterized by a unique natural beauty and its shape refers to Greek letter Omega “Ω”. The area attracts many tourists during the period of August, but is rather quiet during the first weeks of the summer season.
Voidokoilia beach is quiet and suitable for camping.
Gialova
In the north bay of Pylos, you will find the sandy coastal area of Yalova and the Divari lagoon which is considered a home to rare migratory birds.
Gialova beach is very quiet and it is suitable for pic-nic. It is also famous for the traditional taverns next to the sea.
